I know I brag about my husbands amazing projects, but wow, you would too if you lived with someone so talented! For a while we have had our basement fireplace in (and it is so warm!!!) and our mantel installed, but we just haven't finished rocking it. Part of the problem is that we just couldn't decide what we wanted, so we put it off. Finally we decided to make Christmas our deadline. We found some rock being sold nearby and got started!!
Karl had to finish framing in the hearth and the fireplace itself.
He and his trusty apprentice arranged all of the rock so that the colors and sizes would look good.
One by one, each brick was carefully placed.
Ta da!!
I absolutely LOVE IT! Now for new carpet!
