Babies, Prom and an Election!

What a whirlwind last 2 weeks!  (I'm afraid it will just continue...:)
Fun stuff though...read on!

My brother Nathan and his wife Stephanie welcomed their 5th baby into the world.
 Oh, and he is beautiful!
Welcome baby David!

Alyssa and I had one of the funnest days, driving to Ephraim, UT to take a look at Snow College, meet with an adviser and secure an apartment for her. We were successful on all counts!
Go Badgers!

Parker has wanted chain mail for several years.  He saved up his money, convinced his dad to go in half, and bought this beauty!  It weighs 20 lbs!!  He is going to wear it to the Shakespearean Festival put on by his school next month.

I know, I know...you're looking in that box trying to figure it out, then it dawns on you...are those baby chicks I see?  But Heather, I thought you were hoping to get rid of the chickens, not buy more...???
What's up???
4 words..
Karl loves baby chicks!
He came home with a card board box that upon first glance I thought was food from a restaurant, until he opened it up, all smiles!
"What do you think?"
"Uh..."
"We lost a couple chickens this winter, so I decided to replenish our little flock."
"Ooohhh...uh...ok".
And that was that. :-)

A few weeks ago, Connor decided he wanted to run for 9th Grade Student Body Council.
He ran a great, but grueling campaign. His slogan was "Just Do It", and he gave mini magnets to the kids to put on their lockers (it looks like a missionary tag on his shirt in pic above..).  All the kids were supposed to come up with a video, skit, or speech to perform for the student body (all of the grades vote for the SBO's). After a long week and 1/2 of trying to get his video to work out, he decided to change directions and ended up putting together an awesome skit...he brought all kinds of food from the fridge and layed them out on a table.  With the help of his friends, he invited 5 kids to come up and pick an ingredient and put it in the blender to be drunk by Connor.  He ended up drinking : ketchup, pickles and juice, fry sauce, a half-eaten hotdog, oreos, and some sprite.  The kids loved it, and well...
He made it!!!
I was with Allyson when he came home from school on Friday, and so when I called him, I didn't know the results...
"So how did it go?"
My heart is pounding, and Ally and I are on pins and needles waiting to hear the verdict...
"Oh, I didn't make it..."
"Oh Connor, I am just sooooo sorry...."
"Just kidding mom, I made it!"
"What...you did? Allyson and I are going to kill you for putting us through that!!!"
But, oh how happy I was, from head to toe for my boy!

Getting ready for prom!!  Thank goodness for Aunt Allyson, she did a fantastic job on Alyssa's hair!!

Her date was super nice, and they had a great time.

She was sooo beautiful and modest!  So proud of her!

Easter

Easter was truly an all weekend event.
Here are the highlights:

The Easter Bunny comes to our home on Saturday so we can think about Jesus Christ on Sunday.  Yeah! Lots of candy, and iTune gift cards!

Sweedish Fish are probably my all time favorite candy...well maybe it's a tie with Sour Patch Kids and Gummy Bears..:)
Well... take a look! who knew Sweedish Fish came in the form of jelly beans?  Mmmm!

On Saturday we headed over to Ally's house for an Easter celebration.  While the adults hid the eggs at a nearby church, the kids decided to gather pine cones in their baskets....

To keep it challenging for my teenage boys, Jonathan hid some eggs high in a tree....Good luck Connor!

Success!

Taylor got a kite in his basket, and oh how lucky we were to have the perfect kite-flying day!!

Hauling it in!

After the eggs were found...we had a Christ-centered devotional on the Resurrection, given by Nathan.

On Sunday, we invited Grandma and Grandpa Jensen, Ryan and Jonathan over for a traditional Easter dinner...it was delicious if I do say so myself!
Nice weekend! So grateful for our Savior!
