"So when are they going to do the 'tuba'?"
"Uh, the tuba?"
"Yeah, you know...it says it right here on the program..."

Zip, Climb and Age
This past week my builder boy (and hubby) finished a couple amazing projects. Karl built a trellis for our backyard. This will give shade to the afternoon sun of our sand pile and pavilion, and also give us a great place for our grapes to grow.
Then after studying about levers, and pulleys in 3rd Grade science, Taylor built this amazing zip line in our back yard! He and a friend just did it without telling anyone or asking for help.
It was amazing!
Yesterday I celebrated my birthday. I've always loved having a fall birthday, and thought I was the luckiest girl ever! I was always one of the first kids to bring a treat to my school class, (which was super cool), and the weather was still great for an outdoor party. It's by far my favorite time of the year! I had a great day with lots of presents, texts, emails, and love from friends and family.
Thank you!
Once again, I just showed Karl a picture of what I wanted and he made it better!! I can't wait to watch those beautiful grapes climb up the trellis!
Like father, like son! Both super creative and talented.
For my birthday, my mom and I headed up to Sundance to eat at the Foundry Grill, ride the chair lift up to the top and hike to Stewart Falls. It was magical! The fall color is just bursting on the back of Timp and we could hardly take it all in!
My family spoiled me with all kinds of gifts and love!
Soccer season
Once again fall soccer season has begun. I love soccer! We pretty much spend our Saturdays in September and October going to games and cheering on our kids. Connor is reffing again, which gives him some Christmas money to work with. Ashlyn is on a competitive team called Utah Blast and Connor is part of the Extreme United Club. Their teams are both doing really well, so it's fun to watch!
The other day we were out in the yard and I stumbled upon this picture...Ashlyn had been practicing and decided to gather all of our balls around her...we all need friends right?? :)

September Begins
Most of my friends look forward to school starting so that they can get on top of the many tasks that have been put off during the summer, and really for a little slower schedule, with more sleep...the thing is, we all seem to feel frustrated that we're still getting to bed late, totally exhausted with only 2 things done from our "To Do List"! Why is that??? Well, as far as the Jensen family is concerned,
September kicked off with a bang!
Karl celebrated his birthday...I gave him an air mattress and the kids gave him some of his favorite treats.
We had a bumper crop of peaches and nectarines this year...Karl is my canning guy, and takes care of this every year. Sorry ladies...he's taken! :)
My little Ashlyn is in training!
They are beautiful!!
Ashlyn and Karl attended a daddy-daughter activity where they frosted cakes. This is what they came up with!
This was a BIG DEAL!!
A few months ago Parker told me he may be interested in running for student government. I thought that would be great, but didn't think much about it until he brought home his "application packet" a few weeks ago. He spent hours writing an essay, writing a speech, interviewing with the administration, making posters and campaigning among the Sophomores. There were 7 kids running for Sophomore Class President, and Parker made it past the preliminary voting which narrowed the candidates to 2. He then campaigned for another week and the stars aligned...
HE WON!!
We are so proud of Parker, he is super out-going and will make a terrific president!
My good friend Amanda helped us put together this poster. She is an awesome photographer, you can see her work at www.amandabethphotography.blogspot.com.
Lake Powell
We joined the Hunt Family once again for a fantastic outing to Lake Powell over Labor Day weekend.
Here are some of our highlights.
I bought this little frame that uses a white board marker for daily comments. It sits on our kitchen table, and I find all kinds of things written everyday.
Hmmm...maybe this will be my Christmas card photo...what do you think?
Shanelle, Sienna and Ashlyn getting ready to head out on the lake for the day.
The boys loved showing off for us..they were going pretty fast in this picture, it's just hard to tell. ;)
The scenery is unreal in Powell!! Love it!
Alyssa helped Taylor get nice and warm on the beach..
Cute kids loving the front of the boat!
The girls with their time on the tube.
Ashlyn learned how to wake board this year! She is a dare devil, and won't quit anything until she masters it. She is a natural athlete and got up on her 4th try!!!
Yeah...it all has to end sometime...
